Arbitration is an alternative method of conflict resolution, where the parties involved in a dispute appoint an impartial arbitrator or panel of arbitrators to decide the controversy. The arbitrator's decision is binding and generally not subject to appeal. Arbitration is faster and less formal than court proceedings.
